Minnesota Guitar Society’s Showcase Series has two goals: to introduce emerging artists to the guitar-loving community, and to fundraise in support of our flagship concert series at Sundin Music Hall on the Hamline University campus. The first Showcase Series concerts feature the outstanding graduate students from the guitar program at the University of Minnesota, headed by Prof. Maja Radovanlija.
Momčilo Moma Aleksandrić is a Serbian guitarist currently pursuing his doctorate degree at the University of Minnesota under the mentorship of Prof. Maja Radovanlija. Since winning first prize at the 2018 Hong Kong Altamira International Guitar Symposium, he has received invitations for performances in China, Australia, Costa Rica, Thailand, Serbia, and elsewhere.
Filip Živanović was born in Belgrade, Serbia. Since 2003, he has given solo recitals and performed across Europe and the US, and won over 30 first prizes at national and international competitions. In 2010, he enrolled at the University of Belgrade School of Music. He started doctoral studies in chamber music performance in Belgrade, and now is working on his doctorate in classical guitar performance with Prof. Maja Radovanlija at the University of Minnesota School of Music.
