Jerry Kosak is a 2019 recipient of a MN State Arts Board Grant. This is Concert #2 of the 4 – Concert Series. Kosak is a guitarist/musician living in Saint Paul, MN. He incorporates the structure and complexity of classical, the soul and passion of the blues, the happiness and drive of Americana, and the groove and swing of R&B and jazz. His passion of listening, studying, and performing continues to produce “a great reflection of many different styles” according to Kevin Barnes of KBEM Jazz 88.
Grammy-winning fingerpicker Pat Donohue entertains fans with intricate fingerpicking, easy wit, and nimble interpretations of old blues, swing, R&B and original tunes. Chet Atkins called Pat one of the greatest finger pickers in the world today; Leo Kottke called his playing “haunting.” As the guitarist for the “Guys All-Star Shoe Band” of Minnesota Public Radio’s A Prairie Home Companion, for twenty years, Pat got to show off his savvy licks and distinctive original songs to millions of listeners each week. Over the years he has captivated audiences with his unique original compositions, dazzling instrumentals and humorous song parodies. He was the 1983 National Finger Picking Guitar Champion.
