Celebrating Albert Nelson (April 25, 1923 – December 21, 1992), known by his stage name Albert King, an American blues guitarist possibly from Indianola, Mississippi, but more likely Aberdeen, whose playing influenced many other guitarists. He is perhaps best known for the influential album Born Under a Bad Sign (1967.)
I'm an expatriate Memphis musician and an instructor at a private music college in Minnesota. I find a greater clarity in my appreciation for music from Memphis and the Mississippi Delta region, now that I've lived away from it for decades, than when I was growing up in the midst of it.
