Celebrating David Martin (born May 27, 1969), a Twin Cities guitarist and bassist born in Toledo, OH. Martin plays a wide variety of styles but can often be found playing jazz guitar or as bassist in the salsa band Salsa del Soul. He’s made a number of recordings with Portland, OR guitar-builder Mike Doolin.
I'm an expatriate Memphis musician and an instructor at a private music college in Minnesota. I find a greater clarity in my appreciation for music from Memphis and the Mississippi Delta region, now that I've lived away from it for decades, than when I was growing up in the midst of it.
