Celebrating Kat Dyson (January 3, 1960), an American guitarist born in Virginia, best known for her work with Prince as a member of The New Power Generation, along with friend, bassist Rhonda Smith. She composes music for television and film and has also worked with Cyndi Lauper, Sheila E., Keb Mo’, Jeff Healey, and in a number of talk-show house bands.

I'm an expatriate Memphis musician and an instructor at a private music college in Minnesota. I find a greater clarity in my appreciation for music from Memphis and the Mississippi Delta region, now that I've lived away from it for decades, than when I was growing up in the midst of it.
